Patti Austin made a huge impression on my musical growth and taste. She provided a lush countermelody of harmonies against Quincy Jones's productions in the early part of her career and beyond. I have to say the 1st time I was ever moved emotionally by music was a song called "Velas" on Quincy's "The Dude" album and 2nd was Patti's "Any Way You Can". I told myself back then that one day I wanted to thank her in person for her musical contributions which made such an impact on the soundtrack of my life
